After the lead agency bowed out of the Maddie's® coalition in 2008, Maddie's® Project continued on with The Haven for Animals serving as lead agency. Because of its small size, The Haven could not reach the goals previously established for the project, but Maddie's Fund agreed to support the remaining partners through the conclusion of Year Four. The Pet Rescue Project will continue to track and report statistics to Maddie's Fund until 2012.

Baldwin County is located on Alabama's Gulf Coast. Rural and sparsely populated just a few years ago, Baldwin County has become a popular recreational and retirement community with a population of 171,769

Maddie's® Pet Rescue Project

Maddie's® Pet Rescue Project in Baldwin County, AL is working with Maddie's® Spay/Neuter Project to save the lives of all healthy and treatable shelter dogs and cats in Baldwin County, Alabama.

The coalition's lead agency is The Haven for Animals. Other partners include Baldwin County Animal Control Center, City of Bay Minette Animal Control, City of Fairhope Animal Control and Daphne Animal Shelter.

Maddie's® Spay/Neuter Project

The Alabama Veterinary Medical Association (ALVMA) administered Maddie's® Spay/Neuter Project to increase spay/neuter surgeries and reduce shelter intakes.
