 After a career of asking foundations for help, Mary Ippoliti Smith is now top dog at Maddie’s Fund, the key staff person who designs funding guidelines and reviews grant proposals.As the long time Assistant Development Director at The San Francisco SPCA, Mary worked on capital campaigns, events, solicitations and estate planning in addition to writing grant proposals. Her extraordinary fundraising skills translated into millions of dollars annually in support of The SF/SPCA’s lifesaving work. When Mary grew up in Virginia, she wasn’t able to have pets. Now she not only works for them, she’s surrounded by them, as evidenced by Sissy, Mailman, Dido and Bella. Mary holds a degree in Development Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
