This lecture provides viewers with a comprehensive review of FeLV and FIV and their importance in shelters. It covers the clinical signs, disease progression, and management of infected cats with an emphasis on options for and interpretation of diagnostic testing. Viewers have the opportunity to apply this information in interactive cases and determine the best options for your shelter. About Tiva Hoshizaki, BVSc

Tiva Hoshizaki is the Janet L. Swanson resident in shelter medicine. After graduating from Massey University, New Zealand in 2013, she completed an internship in shelter medicine at Cornell University. Apart from shelter medicine, her interests include parasitology, epidemiology and applied animal behavior. Tiva is a self-taught developer who hopes to create new technology solutions for animal shelters that will improve efficiency and help save lives. She currently lives with two Border Collies, and a variable number of geriatric cat.
