MADDIE'S FUND AND THE UTAH VETERINARY MEDICAL ASSOCIATION CONCLUDE SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM
(Alameda, CA- July 2003) A one-year program to spay and neuter both feral cats and pets belonging to low-income Utah residents has come to a close. Maddie's Fund and the Utah Veterinary Medical Association (UVMA), administrator of the program, are pleased with the final number of surgeries performed:

Thanks to $241,376 from Maddie's Fund, UVMA private practice veterinarians were able to offer spay/neuter surgery to Utah Medicaid recipients for $20 per dog and $10 per cat and surgeries for feral cats at $10. The program's target was 5,000 surgeries.
