Although Maddie's® Projects concluded on June 30, 2009, the Pet Rescue Project will continue to track its progress and collect and report statistics to Maddie's Fund until July 2014.

In Year 11 (July 1, 2012 - June 30, 2013), Alachua County achieved a 90% live release rate community-wide!

Alachua County is located in North Central Florida and is home to the University of Florida. The population is 251,417; Gainesville is the county seat.

Maddie's® Pet Rescue Project

Maddie's® Pet Rescue Project in Alachua County, FL is a coalition of animal control agencies and adoption guarantee organizations working together to increase adoptions and end the killing of healthy and treatable shelter dogs and cats countywide.

The Alachua County Veterinary Medical Association administered Maddie's® Spay/Neuter Project to increase spay/neuter surgeries and reduce shelter intake.
