This program takes participants through a review of the risk factors that contribute to infectious disease transmission and offers up-to-date information regarding the best practices in sanitation.

Chumkee Aziz obtained her DVM degree at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. She completed a rotating internship at the ASPCA's Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital in NYC in 2013 and a shelter medicine residency with the Koret Shelter Medicine Program at the University of California, Davis in 2016. She currently works for the ASPCA as a senior director for the Northern Tier Shelter Initiative.
Her areas of focus include the role of community collaboration in mitigating pet homelessness, proactive shelter population management, and infectious disease prevention in shelters. She serves on the Association of Shelter Veterinarians' Board.
