About Tiva Hoshizaki, DVM

Originally from Seattle, Washington, Dr. Tiva Hoshizaki received her Bachelor of Veterinary Science from Massey University, New Zealand, in 2013. An aspiring population medicine specialist, she completed clinical rotations at the SPCA of Wellington, the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, and Larimer Humane Society. Inspired by her time in New Zealand shelters, she hopes to provide shelter services in under-developed areas of the world.While in veterinary school, Dr. Hoshizaki taught dog obedience classes and participated in a program to improve the welfare of University teaching dogs. She is particularly passionate about shelter behavior programs, namely behavior modification and evaluation protocols. Apart from applied animal behavior, her other interests include parasitology, diagnostic imaging and biostatistics.
