Letter from Maddie's Fund
Dear Animal Advocate,
Food guarding can be a death sentence for dogs in animal shelters. This month's feature, Taking a Bite Out of Food Bowl Aggression, describes a successful new shelter protocol that can correct this behavior and save countless canine lives.
Following up on their prize-winning entry in Maddie's Marketing Competition, Nevada Humane Society has come up with yet another great idea to speed the adoption of hard to place pets. It's called Staff Picks and it's working like a charm.
Maddie's Spay/Neuter Project in Northern Nevada is a low-income, targeted program covering six northern Nevada counties. Details and preliminary results are inside.
Finally, noteworthy happenings at the Foundation and among Maddie's funded projects are listed in this month's News and Notes.
Best regards,
The Maddie's Fund® Team
