MADDIE'S® in Duval County, Florida
Maddie's Fund® has approved a $200,000 grant for a two-year targeted spay/neuter project to reduce intake and euthanasia in Duval County, Florida, shelters.
Maddie's® Spay/Neuter Project will target the population of cats living in three of the top seven zip codes in Duval County for feline shelter admissions. Surgeries will be performed at the First Coast No More Homeless Pets feline spay/neuter clinic and at nine participating private practice veterinary clinics.
It is expected that for each year of the Project, approximately 1,700 spay/neuter surgeries above the baseline number of 392 will be performed on cats from the target area. The Project will begin on October 1, 2007.
