Feral Cat Altering Program
The California Veterinary Medical Associations (CVMA) Feral Cat Altering Program (FCAP) ran from July 1999 to May 15, 2002.
The purpose of the Feral Cat Altering Program was to provide free spay/neuter surgery for feral cats throughout the state of California. At the close of the three-year program, CVMA had enrolled 1,116 member veterinarians and performed 170,334 cat surgeries. The FCAP program was underwritten by a $9.5 million grant from Maddies Fund.
