Total Funding: $150K
Maddie’s Fund® has supported the Innovation Showdown with a $50,000 grant in 2018, 2019 and 2020 with a total of $150,000 in funding.
The Innovation Showdown, created in 2017 by the Petco Foundation and The Jackson Galaxy Project, is modeled after the critically acclaimed "Shark Tank" for entrepreneurs, but with one major difference: The Innovation Showdown's ultimate goal is not a financial return on investment, but a lifesaving return on investment to save the lives of more animals in need.
In addition to Maddie’s Fund Innovation Showdown Investors included: Annenberg Foundation, ASPCA, Best Friends Animal Society, Dave & Cheryl Duffield Foundation, The Jackson Galaxy Project, Mary Jo & Hank Greenberg Animal Welfare Foundation, Michelson Found Animals Foundation, Petco Foundation and PetSmart Charities.
A total of $500,000 was invested in innovative ideas in 2020. The investors awarded funding during a virtual session at the Humane Society of the United States Animal Care Expo for the following organizations:
- All 4 Paws: $230,000
- Kitizen Science: $175,000
- Greenville County Animal Care: $95,000
