Kelley Bollen, MS, CABC, and Behavioral Consultant for the Maddie's® Shelter Medicine Program at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, gives an excellent presentation on enrichment and training at the 2012 ASPCA/Maddie's® Shelter Medicine Conference. Ms. Bollen talks about the benefits of enrichment and training for both dogs and cats, as well as the value of these programs in enhancing opportunities for adoption.

About Kelley Bollen, MS, CABC

Kelley Bollen is a Certified Animal Behavior Consultant with a Master's degree in Animal Behavior, who has specialized in shelter behavioral care for the past twelve years. Ms. Bollen currently serves as the Behavior Consultant for the Maddie's® Shelter Medicine Program at Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine. In this role, she teaches shelter medicine residents, interns and veterinary students about animal behavior as it relates to the shelter environment. Ms. Bollen is also the owner/director of Animal Alliances, LLC, an animal behavior consulting business that helps private pet owners with problem behaviors, conducts educational seminars for veterinary staff and consults with animal shelters across the country to help them address such things as stress reduction, environmental enrichment, safe animal handling and canine behavior assessments. In her previous position as the Behaviorist for the Massachusetts SPCA, Ms. Bollen conducted and published research on the reliability of shelter dog behavior evaluations.
