Dr. Laurie J. Larson, a veterinarian and scientist working with Dr. Schultz at the Maddie's® Laboratory for Diagnosis and Prevention of Shelter Diseases, collaborated with Maddie's Fund® to create an infographic outlining the history of canine parvovirus, from its emergence in the 1970s to the present.

Laurie Larson, DVM


Dr. Larson received her DVM degree from Iowa State University in 1987. After several years in private practice she joined Dr. Ronald Schultz's Laboratory in 1991. She finds that assisting shelters to enable them to help more dogs and cats is very satisfying. She lives in Madison, WI with her teenagers and other animals.
