About Jim Tedford

Jim Tedford has been actively engaged in the animal welfare movement for more than 33 years. He currently serves as President & CEO for The Association for Animal Welfare Advancement, a professional association of leaders in the fields of animal welfare and animal care & control.

Jim also serves as President & CEO for the National Council on Pet Population. He started his career serving on the front line of animal welfare and has been CEO for organizations in New York, Louisiana and Tennessee. He served as a regional director for The Humane Society of the United States. He holds a degree in animal science from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Jim and his family share their home in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee with several adopted pets - four dogs, a parrot and a horse.
