Maddie's® Hands-Up Hub and Spoke Transport Model Apprenticeship at St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center
Are you ready to take your transport program to the next level by doing more than just moving dogs? Do you want to create a network of partners that work together to solve the root causes of the need for transport by lending hands up support to source communities? Attendees of this apprenticeship will learn transport best practices as well as the framework of St. Hubert's Sister Shelter WayStation Program. Learn more about the WayStation.
Who Should Apply?
This apprenticeship opportunity is for shelter/rescue organization directors and transport coordinators who are interested in learning how to be the most effective at implementing this type of program in their organization.
How Does it Work?
The Hands-Up Hub and Spoke Transport Model Apprenticeship is 3 days, plus travel. Students will receive three inspiring days at St. Hubert's (http://www.sthuberts.org) in Madison, New Jersey packed with information on how to replicate an existing and mature transport program. Hub and spoke transport models are the catalyst needed to end the euthanasia of healthy and treatable companion animals in this country-addressing today's logistical challenges by reaching the areas of need and mobilizing and professionalizing our field.
A $1,500 stipend to cover travel and lodging will be awarded to the organization of each student chosen.
