Too many cats, not enough adopters? Supersize your cat adoption program! In this Level 2 seminar, you'll learn how to manage a population of hundreds of cats in varying stages of your organization, the resources you'll need to do it, how to get them in front of adopters, promotions and marketing that really work. Learn about the adoption policies and practices that enable Austin Pets Alive! to place thousands of cats each year while maintaining quality adoptions and a low return rate. You'll also learn how to adopt hard to place cats like Feline Leukemia cats and Sassy Singleton cats! This program was part of the American Pets Alive! 2015 No-Kill Conference.
About Monica Frenden
Monica Frenden noticed the stark lack of resources for community cats in rural Illinois and decided to do something about it. In 2008 she founded Safe House Animal Rescue League, a Trap Neuter Return and low-cost spay/neuter service, bringing thousands of cats to Chicago each year for sterilization. To further combat feral cat euthanasia, she developed one of the nation's most successful barn cat programs which saves over 300 feral cats from euthanasia annually. In 2012, Monica moved to Texas and joined Austin Pets Alive! where she serves as Cat Program Manager, overseeing the adoption and care of more than 3,000 cats each year. Her love of sassy cats helps save even the most challenging of felines!
