About Kevin Horecka

Kevin has a background in Computer Science, Embedded and Vision Systems Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Software Engineering. He earned his PhD from the University of Illinois in Neuroscience, and he currently works at Walmart Technology, an artificial intelligence branch of Walmart that solves internal business problems for the company using AI, as the lead of the Data Science group. He also leads the non-profit initiatives for that group. He has been a volunteer Researcher and Technologist for American Pets Alive! and Parvo Medical Volunteer at Austin Pets Alive! since 2011, where he works on innovative technology and research ideas to help advance the state of the art in animal sheltering.
