The following are the most frequently asked questions about the Maddie’s® Pet Forum Resource Library. If you have a question not answered below, please login to Maddie’s® Pet Forum and send a message to the @Maddie’s Pet Forum Admin or you can email us at email@example.com.
The Maddie's® Pet Forum Resource Library is a free, digital collection of animal welfare related documents including protocols, templates, guides and other handouts that will benefit animals and those who care for them.
You must be a registered member of Maddie’s® Pet Forum to access the Resource Library. Membership is free and instant. Register
You can browse the Resource Library in two ways: by audience and by topic.
To browse by audience, select one of the five audience types: Leadership, Shelter & Rescue Staff, Veterinary Team, Volunteers, Foster Caregivers. Each resource has at least one audience type. These audience types include a collection of resources most useful to that specific audience.
To browse by topic, select one of the 28 topics from the Resource Library homepage. Each resource falls under at least one topic. These are the same topics used on discussions in Maddie’s® Pet Forum. You can also browse the Resource Library by all topics by clicking on the "Browse By All Topics” button from the homepage.
You can search by entering keywords in the search bar at the top of the Resource Library homepage. You can also select a topic but it is not required.
We will show you results based on matches to the resource title, description, author and tags.
From the search results page, you can also complete a search within your current results to find exactly what you're looking for. Simply enter a keyword in the "Search within these results…" box to refine your results.
On the left of the browse/search results page, you’ll find five categories of filters that you can apply to your results: Resource Audience, Topics, Rating, Species and Resource Type. You can apply as many filters as you’d like in each category except the Rating category (up to one can be selected at a time).
Your resource results list on the right will update as you select/deselect filters. Any filters that you apply will be displayed at the top of the page in teal so you can easily see what your results are being refined by.

When on the browse/search resources page, click on the Details button.
On the resource details page, click on the "Favorite Resource” button to add it to your Favorite Resources shortcuts.
Your Favorite Resources shortcuts are only visible when you are on the Maddie’s® Pet Forum feed and group pages. Your shortcuts column is NOT visible on the Resource Library pages.
On each resource details page, there are options to share the resource via Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest and email. Click on any of the icons to share the resource details page.
Note: Anyone you share a resource with must login to Maddie’s® Pet Forum to view the resource details page.
From the browse/search resources page, clicking on the teal Resource Name opens the resource in a new tab so you can get a quick preview.
You can choose to save the resource from that new tab OR from the resource details page, click on the "Download Resource” button to download the resource directly to your device.

Adding Resources to the Library
You can upload a variety of files or add links to the resource library. The acceptable file types include:
- NUMBERS and more.
The maximum file size is 100MB
Members of the Maddie's Fund team will review and approve or deny your uploaded resource before being posted to the Resource Library.
You must select one file or link to upload to the library. The required fields to complete before you are able to submit your resource for review are: Resource Name, Description, Resource Author, Resource Type (select at least 1), Audience (select at least 1), Species (select at least 1) and Topic (select at least 1).
Tags are an optional field.
Yes, you can upload helpful resources that were created by other organizations or individuals. Please be sure to add the original author’s name in the Resource Author field.
If the author is a registered member of the forum, tag them in the Resource Author field by typing the "@” symbol, followed by their forum screen name.
Only the person who uploaded the resource is able to make changes to the resource information and document. Please note that all changes that are made must be reviewed and approved by a forum admin. Your resource details will remain unchanged until an admin has reviewed your updates.
To make changes to a resource you uploaded, go to the resource details page and select the "Edit Resource Details” button.
If you find a resource that you authored and you are not given credit in the Resource Author field, please send an email to email@example.com with a link to the resource in question and details of your involvement in the creation of the resource.
Rating & Reviews
From the Browse Resource page, simply click on the star rating or if the resource has zero reviews, click the "Not Yet Rated” text.
You can also access the review page from the resource details page by clicking the "Review Resource” button.
We encourage you to rate and review resources to help other forum members make a more informed decision on how the resource can be used. You can leave just a star rating (1-5 stars) or you can also include comments about how helpful the resource was for you.
Please note that all reviews are subject to moderator approval so please be kind and provide constructive feedback.
Approved reviews will appear on your resource details page. Each review shows the avatar and screen name of the forum member who left a review. By clicking on their avatar or screen name, you will be taken to their profile page where you can choose to send a private message.
Yes. From the resource details page, select the "Edit Resource Details" button. You will be taken to the Edit Resource page where you can replace the file or make changes to the description and other fields.
Please note that any changes you make to the resource file or any of the details, will require additional moderator approval. Once your changes are approved, you will receive a notification and your resource details page will be updated.
If you believe a resource has been mislabeled or categorized incorrectly, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with a link to the resource details page. Please clearly state what you believe is incorrect and your suggested edits.
