Sara Marks

Senior Accountant

As Maddie's Fund's Senior Accountant, Sara provides the day-to-day accounting operations including quality control, compliance and financial statement preparation assistance.

Sara brings a unique blend of accounting expertise and deep passion for animal well-being, which she is excited to apply at Maddie's Fund. After earning a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, she spent eight years as a Senior Accountant at the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA), where she managed accounting operations for the organization and its affiliated leagues.

Actively involved in the animal well-being field, she regularly fosters cats and kittens. Sara also leads a study abroad program through Saint Mary's College, where she and her students work with wildlife conservation organizations to rescue and rehabilitate native wildlife such as wombats, kangaroos, wild birds and turtles in Australia.

Sara resides in Alamo, CA, where she enjoys gardening, hiking, baking and spending time with her family and pets. Her love for animals is reflected in her own home, where she and her family care for a rescue Chocolate Lab from Australia, a rescue German Shepherd and two adopted cats. She is honored to combine her accounting expertise with her passion for animal welfare to support Maddie's Fund's mission of improving the lives of companion animals and the people who love them.
