Valuable Volunteer Programs: Successful Programs Proven to Work

Austin Pets Alive! couldn't run without volunteers. How do you create a volunteer program that works to the specific needs of your rescue, shelter or community? Join volunteer leaders to learn how to rethink volunteers and reach your goals together and as a united front. This presentation was recorded by Maddie's Fund® at the 2019 American Pets Alive! Conference.

About Monica Dangler

Monica Dangler began working in animal welfare at the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society in 2009, where she was able to use her consumer science education and 15 years professional experience to manage their off-site events team and recruit volunteers to support increased events and fundraising. In 2012, Monica became the Shelter Director at PAWS Shelter and Humane Society in Kyle, TX. At PAWS, she grew the volunteer and foster programs which led to increasing the number of lives saved while building relationships in the Central Texas rescue community. As the Volunteer Manager at Austin Pets Alive! since 2015, Monica continues to grow the massive volunteer component that supports APA's lifesaving mission.
