Animal welfare organizations, would you like to provide support for your foster and adoptive homes? Introducing Maddie's® Pet Assistant.

Maddie's® Pet Assistant is a FREE app, developed by Maddie's Fund®, to follow up with adopters and foster caregivers once a pet is placed in their new permanent or temporary home.

Using the app, caregivers will be able to send feedback about the health or behavior of their pet, receive helpful tips, send photos, receive vaccinations reminders, track pet weight, submit pet biographies for adoption and more - all while the organization gains valuable data to keep pets out of the shelter.

The app is free, and so is the webcast!

Please note:
If your organization uses Animal Shelter Manager, PetPoint, Shelterluv or Shelter Buddy shelter management software, Maddie's® Pet Assistant can easily and automatically import your organization's data. For all other software, or if your organization doesn't currently have a management software, you can elect to manually enter your pets', adopters' and/or foster caregivers' data directly into the MPA website.

You can also watch our short videos to learn more about the ins and outs of Maddie's® Pet Assistant!

About Amber Freiwald

As Project Manager for the Research Team, Amber manages all things Maddie's® Pet Assistant, our app to aid in the communication and support of adopters and foster caregivers after a pet goes home.

She began her tenure with Maddie's Fund as a research contractor in 2013, becoming a full-time employee a year later. Amber earned her Marketing and Sociology degree from Tulane University. She was first introduced to Maddie's Fund through the Summer Scholars program, authoring a journal publication regarding pet guardian attitudes toward medical interventions, with Dr. Annette Litster. Her interest in shelter medicine continued to peak (not only with the special love of an angel kitty friend, Posey, but also) during her assistantship at Purdue's Veterinary Teaching Hospital and time spent as an adoptions counselor and program manager at Almost Home Humane Society in Lafayette, Indiana.

Amber is extremely proud to be able to use her research, training and management skills to professionalize and advance the movement to eliminate euthanasia of healthy and treatable companion animals. She resides in Washington, D.C. with her "foster successes" Ducky and Booger.
